Screen Printing

At delivered By DECADE, we use a variety of screen printing techniques to ensure your prints look as true to your vision as possible. The best print method for your design depends on several factors, including:

• The complexity of the design

• The number of colors used

• The presence of gradients or semi-transparency

• Whether the design is photorealistic or includes photorealistic elements

Let’s break down the different printing methods we offer!

Spot Color

Spot color is the industry’s most common screen printing method. It typically uses solid colors, with occasional halftones, to achieve bold and accurate color reproduction. This method is ideal for vibrant, high-contrast prints but is not suited for photorealistic designs.

CMYK

Dating back to 1906, CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) is one of the oldest methods for color reproduction and remains the standard for commercial printing. If you’ve ever looked at a newspaper through a magnifying glass, you’ll notice tiny dots of these four colors. CMYK screen printing is best suited for white or very light-colored garments and is great for full-color designs.

Simulated Spot Process

This method is similar to CMYK printing but uses more opaque standard inks instead of the same four colors every time. This results in better color stability, especially when printing complex, halftoned images on darker garments. Simulated Spot Process is one of the most widely used methods for high-detail printing today.
